It is not only the places that make journeys special, but also the people we share them with. And this time it was Maurizio, one of our drivers, who had the opportunity to accompany a very special family: Robbie, together with his American wife and in-laws who had just arrived from the USA to enjoy a few days in Italy.
From the first meeting, Maurizio knew it was going to be a fun tour: the family was friendly, cheerful, with the curiosity of those who travel not just to see, but to experience the country they are visiting.
The day started in Milan, with a walk through some of the city's most iconic sites:
After breathing in the beauty of the Lombard capital, the journey continued to Genoa, where Maurizio guided the family through the wonders of the old city. They visited the House of Christopher Columbus, a must-see for those arriving for the first time in the pesto region, and then a walk in Piazza De Ferrari, the beating heart of the city, where modern and ancient meet in a unique way.
Maurizio has a gift: he knows how to make people feel at home, even if theirs is thousands of kilometres away. During the journey, with his calm, helpfulness and attention, he managed to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The family immediately felt at ease, free to enjoy the trip without worries: they chatted, smiled, shared impressions and curiosities. A kind of understanding that is built not just with words, but with experience.
At the end of the day, Robbie's family was so enthusiastic and happy with the experience that they wanted to immortalise the moment of saying goodbye: first a group photo, all together, then a special shot with Maurizio in front of the van, as a sign of gratitude to those who had made such a beautiful and special day possible. For us, there is no more beautiful recognition.
